“I have been working with Dr. Ellwanger for treatment of neck/back pain and stiffness and I can highly recommend him as a very effective practitioner in atlas orthogonal chiropractic. He is attentive to my concerns as his patient and provides the highest quality of care. As my condition has changed over time, he has adjusted my appointment frequency accordingly so I’m not paying for treatments that I don’t need. I have been very impressed w/ atlas orthogonal as a treatment and with Dr Ellwanger as a provider.”
Wellness care by doctors of chiropractic may reduce health care costs, improve health behaviors, and enhance patients’ perceived quality of life. In 2005, both Medical News Today (March 7) and The Journal for Vertebral Subluxation Research (Feb. 18) reported major advances in how chiropractic helps to relieve stress in those who are under chiropractic care.
Until recently, it was just anecdotal that chiropractic care could affect the body on more than a pain relieving level. What many researchers overlooked is the fact that chiropractic adjustments affect the chemistry of biological processes on a cellular level. Researchers have found that chiropractic care can affect the basic physiological processes that influence oxidative stress and DNA repair.
By comparing serum thiol (primary antioxidant; measure of human health status) levels in about 50 patients receiving short- or long-term chiropractic care, with 30 patients who were treated with non-chiropractic methods, researchers found that: * Independent of age, sex or taking nutritional supplements, long-term chiropractic care of two or more years re-established a normal physiological state in patients. * Patients who received chiropractic care showed higher mean serum thiol levels, compared to patients with active disease, and produced some values that were higher than normal wellness values.
Moreover, chiropractors apply spinal adjustments to correct disturbances of nerve function; thus, chiropractic care appears to improve a patient’s ability to adapt to stress.
Minor pressure applied to nerves reduces performance of their function by a great amount. Chiropractors are in the business of restoring normal nerve function and enhancing the life potential in all people. Thus, those who enjoy chiropractic care are able to live life to their fullest potential.
Abundant Blessings to all.
